Blind struggling to drive (Juddering)
- Weights inside the hembar can be used on a vertical blind to help pull the blind downwards.
- The side channels could be brought in by up to 5mm either side so the fabric isn't so tight (gap can be packed out). This can result in slightly more fabric sagging.
- Check the bottom limits if the blind isn’t closing all the way.
- On a rooflight, check the aperture is square by measuring diagonally across the rooflight.
Fabric coming out of zip guide
This can occur when the blind isn’t square. To check this, measure the blind from corner to corner on both sides. This measurement should be the same, if it isn’t, you’ll need to adjust the blind.
You can also remove the tube from the cassette and check whether the fabric is sitting square on the tube. There should be an equal gap between the fabric and the tube at either ends. If you cannot set it perfectly square, you can slide the fabric across slightly in the direction of the side it was coming out of the side channels.
Failing this, the zip guides themselves may be faulty in which case replacements will need to be sent.
Grinding Noises
If the motor / panel is making a grinding noise whilst in operation, the blind may have been overused and is near to overheating. The blind will stop working until the motor has cooled. Wait between 30-60 mins before attempting again.
If waiting doesn’t solve the problem, the motor may need to be replaced.
Fabric Issues
- Puckering - If there is puckering down the edge of the fabric (alongside the side channels), this is normal and can be expected. This is a natural characteristic of zipped-edged blinds.
- Creasing - This can happen when fabric rolled onto the tube for a long period of time. This should fix itself the blind has been closed for some time.
- Sagging – Causes of a diagonal bow across a fabric panel include the blind not being fitted square, the fabric not being lined on the tube straight, the side channels being spaced too far apart or too close, the side channels not having an equal consistent measurement from the top to the bottom.
- Rippling near the hembar – This can occur on KuroLok RL with a Type-Z hembar. If there is rippling in the far corner of the fabric panel near the hembar, you may have to remove the clamps on the hembar, pull the fabric tight, flatten the fabric then pierce new holes, then re-clamp the hembar.

Blind not moving but the motor is spinning
This can happen when the crown (collar) is broken, in this case the crown will need to be replaced.

No Response
- Check motor and control is compatible
- Check the motor is RF
- Check remote battery
- Check power to the blinds
Programming a blind to multiple channels (Situo 5 Remote)
step-by-step
- Select the channel you want to copy – e.g channel 1
- Press and hold the programming button (blind will shunt)
- Go to the channel you want the blind to be copied to – e.g channel 3
- Press the programming button once (blind will shunt)
- The blind will now operate on channels 1 & 3

If a motor is in sleep mode*, chances are the motor is still in programming mode.
To test this, check whether the blind moves continuously with a single press or whether you have to hold the up / down button to move the blind. If you have to hold the button down the blind is in programming mode.
You will need to complete a full motor reset again making sure that the remote is paired with the blind properly. You usually have a limited time to pair the remote with the motor (1 min).
Once the remote is paired you usually have around an hour to complete the next stages - the top / bottom limits, all the steps on the instructions must be carried out correctly.
*Sleep Mode
To put a battery Sonesse 30 motor into sleep mode:
- Press the program button on the motor head for around three seconds, until the blind jogs once.
- The motor head will blink green
- Quickly press and release the program button. The blind will jog twice confirming the motor is in sleep mode
- This will need to be repeated for each blind on the group channel

Motor failed while blind is closed
Sometimes this happens when the motor loses charge, in this case wait a few hours for the solar panel to charge the blind enough for you to open it once and plug in a charger.
If the motor fails or the remote unpairs when the blind is open, use the following method to gain access:
Carefully push the corner of the fabric nearest the hembar where the zip-guide ends. Once you have enough clearance to access the power supply, you can then perform the motor reset procedure to re-pair the remote.
To get the fabric back inside the zip guide, move the blind towards the cassette whilst carefully guiding the fabric along the way. The blind should re-work itself back inside the side channels.
