These three terms are thrown around a lot, and all mean slightly different things.
Motorisation
Simple enough, Motorised blinds are ones that have motors.
Automation
Blinds that are Automated are slightly more advanced than basic motorised blinds.
Instead of only operating when they’re told to by a radio remote or hardwired switch, they can be programmed to go up and down on their own.
An example being using a timer to raise your blinds when your alarm clock goes off in the morning, or fifteen minutes after sunset in the evening.
Automations used right make your routines simpler.
Integration
If you want the most out of your blinds whether that be in the form of saving money or making a more seamless smart experience, it’s a good idea to look at integration.
Integrated blinds are those that have been connected to a smart system with other smart products.
Whether this is with blinds integrated with a motion sensor so that they open when somebody walks into the room or your lighting so that artificial light can react to varying levels of natural light (controlled by the blinds), there are countless ways that blinds can be integrated with third party smart objects.
