If you’re working with a particularly large blind, the fabric widths available can become a consideration. The term ‘Fabric Widths’ refers to how wide the rolls of fabric that we purchase are
If your blind is wider than we can purchase the chosen fabric, there are a few routes that we can take to make the blind.
Turning Fabric
If the drop of the blind is less than the fabric width, this is the best option.
Your chosen fabric can be rotated so that the width of the blind can be as large as the chosen blind system permits.
Joining the Fabric
Alternatively, fabric can be heat welded together or ‘joined’.
This will be more visible on some fabrics than others, especially loose screen fabrics, sheer fabrics, and voiles.
Finding an Alternative
If neither of these options sound good to you, we can also try to find an alternative fabric that is wide enough as similar to the original choice as possible.
If the fabric is only slightly larger than your drop, it may still not work when turned.
This is because some extra length is needed to wrap around the hembar and roller tube.
